The COVID pandemic has truly changed the world and the way we perceive illnesses. Before the pandemic, a cough or a sneeze was never a cause for alarm. We’ve all survived the common cold, and no one panicked when they got a sore throat.
But COVID has changed all of that. As reliable information became available, the COVID symptoms were well-known. Unfortunately, many people have developed what’s referred to as Long COVID, and even its symptoms are changing.
What Are the Symptoms of Long COVID?
Until recently, the symptoms of Long COVID were easy to spot. Many people reported still feeling ill for 6 to 8 weeks after their initial diagnosis. Sore throat, fever, coughing, and tiredness were common signs. Some people also experienced brain fog or difficulty concentrating or staying focused. It was common for someone infected to begin to recover, only to experience a worsening of symptoms.
However, recently there have been new reports about Long COVID symptoms. Here’s what you need to know about them.
Fuzzy Tongue
Also known as COVID Tongue or Hairy Tongue, this symptom is having a white or yellow fuzz on the surface of the tongue that’s difficult to remove. Some have reported a combination of a fuzzy tongue and mouth ulcers.
Tingling Nerves
Another new symptom of Long COVID is having pain or a tingling sensation in the hands and feet. Some researchers believe that the COVID virus could adversely affect the nervous system.
COVID Psychosis
Although rare, some suffering from Long COVID have had bouts of confused thoughts, delusions, and hallucinations.
