When you eat breakfast, you do so with the idea that it will energize and strengthen you to tackle the day. But when breakfast makes you feel weak and hungry, it defeats the purpose. Unfortunately, these kind of breakfast meals are the foods many have slated in their food timetable for breakfast.
Therefore, we will look at those breakfast foods you should avoid if you don’t want to spend the day feeling lethargic.
1. Donuts
Donuts are not only made with so many unhealthy ingredients, but they are also deep-fried. With all these, it is the worst meal to have in the morning. Not if you don’t want to spend the day craving more sugar or lethargic.
2. Sugary Cereal
Cereal is the go-to meal in many homes. And cereal on its own is not the issue; the issue is when it is sweetened. Sweetened cereal contain a lot of sugar that leaves you drained instead of energized to take on the day. If you must take cereal, aim for more natural cereals.
3. Processed Smoothies
You may say that smoothies are healthy, and you’d be right, but that’s if you’re referring to homemade smoothies because you are in charge of the ingredients. On the other hand, processed smoothies that are bought over the counter are basically packaged sugar and carbs. Making your own smoothies at home is recommended, where you can include the required nutrients.
4. Bagels
Bagels lack the nutrients needed to keep you energized and full to take on the day, so they are better off avoided. If you must take them, dress them in healthier foods.
5. Biscuits
Biscuits, once in a while, are probably fine. However, taking them in the morning is not the best idea. They have no nutritional value, and you’d just be taking in carbs that will keep you unmotivated throughout the day.
